Privacy policy
What data this site collects, which is almost nothing, and what third parties such as the host and the advertising provider do.
This page explains what happens to data when you visit cooktimecalculator.com. The short version: the site itself asks you for nothing and stores nothing about you.
There are no accounts, no sign up, no newsletter and no contact form. Every calculation happens inside your own browser and is never sent anywhere.
Who is responsible
This site is run by Philipp Eiselt, an individual, not a company. You can reach me at [email protected].
What the site itself collects
Nothing. The cooking calculators run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. When you pick an egg size or type in an altitude, that value never leaves your device and is not recorded.
The timer works the same way. It reads your device clock and counts down locally.
No cookies are set by this site for its own purposes.
Server logs
The site is hosted by Sevalla, which is operated by Kinsta. Like any web host, their servers keep access logs. These typically record your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser and operating system, and the page you came from.
This is standard for every website on the internet and is necessary to serve pages and to protect against abuse. The legal basis under GDPR is legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f). I do not use these logs to build a profile of you and I do not combine them with anything else.
Advertising
This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve those ads and to measure them.
Google may use a cookie called the DoubleClick DART cookie to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. This is Google acting as an independent controller for that data, not me. I do not receive your browsing history and I cannot see who you are.
You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many other advertising cookies at aboutads.info.
Google explains how it handles data on partner sites in its own privacy and terms pages.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable format. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Because this site holds almost nothing about you, most of these requests will be short conversations. Write to [email protected] and I will respond within 30 days.
For data held by Google in connection with advertising, Google is the controller and you would need to exercise those rights with them directly.
External links
Some pages link to other websites. Once you follow one of those links this policy no longer applies, and I have no control over how those sites handle your data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page. Since the site collects nothing directly, changes will almost always be about third parties such as the advertising provider.
